We have to win

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

This video once again shows why Jerome and Barack belong together on the ticket. Here, Senator Obama talks about the responsibility he has to win, and how we all have to work together to make that happen. The Bus knows more than a little bit about teamwork, and sacrificing for the greater good. Remember when he took a pay cut just to be able to stick around and help the Steelers win One for the Thumb? Could you picture Mitt Romney taking a break from swimming in his Scrooge McDuck style money-vault to help someone else? No.

Watching this video you could almost see the same words coming from Dan Rooney or Coach Tomlin. Teamwork matters, and failure is not an option. Join the Movement today.

Red vs Blue

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Senator Obama is fond of saying that we are not a Red America and a Blue America.

To which I like to add, “But we are a Black & Gold America.”

Have a good weekend folks. See you on Monday.

Important service for Obama supporters

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

We all know that Steeler Nation doesn’t just exist in and around Pittsburgh. Steeler fans can be found in all corners of the country - even across the world from Ireland to Iraq. While folks in Western PA can go to home games, eat at Jerome’s restaurant, and see Barack Obama at his many stops in the swing state, those of us in the farther corners of Steelers Nation are not so lucky.

Take me, for example. I live about half an hour from Foxboro Stadium. Not only am I surrounded by Patriots fans, but since all of New England is pretty much “safe” it’s unlikely that the Senator will be in my area between now and November.

Now, in the past this would mean no chances to see the Senator, shake his hand, or have him kiss my baby. But the Obama campaign is a movement to change politics, to bring us something new. They will not be constrained by the past, but they will bring innovative solutions to seemingly intractable problems.

This is why I’m proud to introduce yinz to the greatest innovation in political campaigning since the straw hat: Send Barack Your Baby.com.

Unite for Change

On Saturday, June 28th the Obama campaign is hosting “Unite for Change” events all across the country. They are a chance for supporters to get together, celebrate our primary victory, and get fired up for the general election. Everyone is welcome, especially people who’ve never gotten involved in a campaign before. Go here for more information.

I’ve created some black & gold themed Obama icons and desktop wallpapers for your downloading pleasure. Now you can join the Obama/Bettis ‘08 movement Generation Y style.

No longer will you have to choose between proclaiming to the world your support for Senator Obama or your proud citizenship in Steeler Nation. Now you can do both at the same time. What a country!

I only designed the desktop backgrounds up to 1024×768 resolution. If you need a larger one, just leave a comment here and I’ll get working on it. Also, if you have other ideas for fun graphics, let me know and I’ll see what I can whip up.

36 in 08!

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Like many of you the very first time I heard Barack Obama speak - delivering the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention - I knew, I just knew that this man would be President. Sometimes things just click, and one word, one phrase, one image is all you need to know.

Likewise, in March of this year, I saw the following photo and once again just knew that Senator Obama had found the man who would be his perfect running mate.

The photo that changed the world

Why is the best running back the perfect running mate?

  • He has an appeal to working-class voters.
  • He will deliver Pennsylvania.
  • He will deliver Michigan.
  • He can take the hard hits from McCain and Rove. And he’s proven he can hit back.
  • He’d scare the crap out of Mitt Romney.

That’s why this blog is dedicated to promoting an Obama/Bettis ticket in 2008.

Okay, so there’s a slight chance with The Bus on the ticket we’d lose Ohio, but do we really want those Browns and Bungles fans at our innauguration anyway?
